I meant the pictures were of the watch that I actually tried on, clearly I did try on the 'Black Bay' and not the Black Bay 58.

 

Perhaps if they were called the Black Bay 41 and the Black Bay 39 it would make more sense?

 

Next time I get a chance I am going to try on a BB58 just so I can put this to bed. But since the size wasn't an issue for me, I can't see that it being slightly smaller is going to make me fall in love with it. I do like the gilted bezel better, but that alone isn't going to change my mind. I do think the blue looks a bit less retro so that would be a positive in my book, but overall it's just not me and like I said it's too Rolexy for my liking.

 

If you don't like the look, then you don't like the look, and not much will change that (except perhaps for time, as I said before tastes can change).

I feel the same about quite a few watches that people rave about, like Patek Phillippes and AP Royal Oaks. I know they're great watches, horologically and in terms of quality, but the design just doesn't do anything for me.

So it's all good - would be very boring if we all liked the same thing. You're not wrong, just because lots of other people like the BB58.

 

You're right though Charlie, tastes can change. Look at Jim...

 

For example, you used to dislike the Full Black Calibre 16, but have commented a few times it has grown on you.

Ultimately it doesn’t matter if you dislike is the bb58, buy what works for you, the varied tastes and opinions here are what make this forum great.

Dude, the Black Bay 41 is a completely different model with no biiizel. It has nothing to do with the Black bays we're talking about here. Most important thing about Tudor is that everything must be named Black bay and the naming of the different models shall be confusing since the 39mm Black Bay 58 is completely different from the Black Bay 36 and the Black Bay 41, they couldnt name the 39mm Black bay the Black Bay 39. You know what Im sayin?
