The Best and Worst TAG Heuers of 2018

In a classic Carrera case, I like 41mm. This is what TAG Heuer used for the original 1887, the 300 SLR, the Jack Heuer birthday & variants, and of course the CH80 prototypes. They obviously knew what they were doing, so I really hope they go back to that.

I don't know the reasons for the change in brand strategy, but I would imagine that their marketing department back then concluded people wanted to buy TAG Heuers over Heuers. Then the vintage collecting craze happened a decade+ ago and now anything Heuer branded is golden.

I personally prefer the current design of the Monaco cases over the original's. The lines are much cleaner now. Same on the current Monza, IMHO the new design is better than the original's.

Gotta agree with you on the Monaco cases, the originals are agricultural to say the least - definitely not 'luxury' watches at all, despite the prices!

I have to disagree with this. Small can look special too. Also, not everyone can pull off the larger sizes, or indeed is looking for impact or presence. Tag must have something in their line-up for smaller wrists or for people looking for the more subtle. Now they just need to do an affordable version and I'm in! 馃榾
Why not have both?

Plenty of larger size options already... your watch box is bursting with them! 馃榾 But I do agree. I wish more manufacturers would make different sizes, like Rolex do with the Oyster Perpetual or Omega with the Aqua Terra and Seamaster.

Actually that's not a bad idea really... I mean TAG kind of did that with some iterations of the Aquaracer, albeit chrono 43mm and non-chrono 41mm. But then that makes sense because the 43mm 3 handers can look a bit empty, but then I have 38mm chronos that don't look particularly cramped.

Best: (still loading...too hard to process with so many releases)

Worst: Aquaracer Carbon 3 hander. Due to it's price and "carbon-like printed dial". I am in the ceramic industry, they use printed technology too nowadays to immitate real marble(for real !) and is the current big thing and the result can last forever too. But it's nowhere justified the price with just as much as carbon on the bezel exclusively. The looks of the watch overall itself i don't mind.
