Tag vs Breitling - Which Should I Get?

Hi everyone. I am looking to treat myself to a new watch this year, likely right after the holidays. I've been doing a long of browsing and I feel like I have it down to my top two. I am on the fence about which one I should get. I am looking at a 11630 vs a Breitling Navitimer (see the second watch listed here ). I don't know much about Breitling watches and I know these are very different models from each other, but I figured I'd ask if anyone has any good experience one way or the other? How well are the Breitling watches made? Do they hold up well and is servicing reasonable?

You might get a biased view on a Tag forum, but my opinion for what it's worth...

I've owned a lot of different watches over the past few years but never a Breitling. My wife had one briefly, though. It seemed as well made as a Tag Heuer or other Swiss brands. The Navitimer is a classic and I doubt you can go too wrong. That said, the reason my wife didn't keep her quartz Breitling is because it kept losing time, so it got returned for a refund and she ended up buying a Rolex OP instead 馃榾

Am I right in thinking you're also considering a vintage Heuer Autavia? A different proposition I suppose, buying a vintage watch. But if well-serviced, no reason you can't enjoy it as a daily wearer. It would be my choice for sure out of these two.

Your name is "Tag forever" and you ask us if you should buy a Breitling 馃槻

In your heart you know that Breitling is good but Tag Heuer and Heuer is the answer to true happiness

If you're going to buy Breitling for God's sake don't pay retail for it!

Agree, but to be fair, one could say the same about Tag!

I own a Breitling Navitimer, which I enjoy very much. Breitling makes nice quality watches and I've never had a problem with mine, which is over 10 years old. But as I'm into cars and motorsports, TAG Heuer is the only brand that I'm truly passionate about.
