·Hello all,
New member here and I’m looking at making my first TAG purchase. I was wondering if anyone could give me some insight on the average life expectancy of TAG’s rubber straps. I have my eye on an F1 Quartz Chronograph. I’ve owned watches of lesser quality in the past that had rubber straps but they all eventually failed. Either the keepers break or the band itself becomes stiff and breaks. Having seen TAG’s rubber straps in person I get the impression they are of much higher quality material compared to what I’ve owned. I’m sure a lot a factors affect the life expectancy of rubber straps such as perspiration, exposure to sunlight, frequency of wearing, etc., so I’m wondering what experiences you guys have had. Did you have any failures with your rubber strap and did you find it difficult to get a genuine replacement? I remember reading somewhere that TAG stocks parts for 10 years for a particular watch. This purchase will most likely be my only TAG purchase. I do like the rubber straps but if it’s unrealistic to expect 20 years out of a rubber strap then I’ll most likely choose a model with a steel bracelet.
