Tag Heuer Warranty

Does anyone else think that the 2 year cover that Tag provide is now looking a bit meek compared to the competition? Especially for the more expensive end of their range with ‘in house’ movement.

With most of their competitors offering 3 to 5 years (Even Longines which is much cheaper!). Are Tag basically admitting that their quality is not that good and purely marketing/cosmetic by not standing firmer behind the longevity of their product?

I would like a longer warranty, especially for automatics. But longer warranties tend to be used as an excuse to hike prices. It becomes the first thing a salesperson mentions.

I remember this was discussed on the Forum when Omega upped theirs to 5 years. I think they should do the same.

I agree, with IWC offering 8 years, Omega 5, Oris 10 years etc its long overdue for Tag to increase their warranty as well. But, I dont think shorter warranty is equal to admitting that the products are bad. From a business perspective you only want to offer the warranty you think you "have to". If people buy your product anyway there is no need to up the warranties, similar to how for example Mercedes-Benz stick to their 2 year warranty because "who cares, people will buy our cars either way".

Not sure how all other brands' warranties work but I saw that IWC offer 2 years with a 6 year extension if you register your watch. Sounds like a sneaky way of mapping out and registering customers and must have other benefits for IWC and they use warranty offer to get people to register their purchase.

Agree. Tudor have upped theirs too. 2 years doesn't seem long enough now.

But you have a 6-year warranty for the battery of your Plug-in Hybrid Mercedes-Benz, and a 30-year mobility warranty (Mobilo) 😉

I echo everyone’s stand on this. TAG Heuer fans and enthusiasts deserve better with increasing TH warranty services without increasing the price 😉

Cars have atleast 3 years (or more) manufacturer’s warranty. This is a CALL for TAG Heuer. Warranty shouldn’t be an issue if you know quality materials & craftmanship is already top notch. 👍

Would you want to offer a 5 year warranty on a Calibre 5?

No reason why they shouldn't. It's a well proven ETA (Sellita) movement.

With a well known history of winding and crown issues as I know only too well.

They could at least offer the longer warranty on in-house movements.

That would make more sense.

yes that is really my point. They are moving those in house movement watches up the ladder in terms of price, but not taking the cover with them. Unlike almost every other brand that has trodden the same path recently. That’s what I find puzzling. Omega even went as far as to retrospectively ‘upgrade’ existing customers - which I’m sure won them a lot of goodwill.

Tudor is 5 years with no service requirements & no need to register, just need dealer to date warranty card.
