(TAG) Heuer (Professional) 1000 alternative replacement crystals

Are there any alternative crystal options for the TAG Heuer Professional 1000 watches? I'd particularly like a saphire crystal that has some dome shape poking past the bezel vintage watch style.

TAGDiver1000 offers saphire crystals but they're the same flat style as the originals.

It looks like Tyler of Simmons Watch Company used to fit GS Hypo Diver-tite High Dome Acrylic Crystal to his offerings:

But the arylic scratches and scuffs a lot so a sapphire version of would be ideal.


On a related note, is the crystal the same between the earlier thick case models and later thinner car models?

"The original crystal TAG used on the xxx.x13 1000s is a hardened mineral crystal size 27.5 x 2.25 . I highly recommend using a sapphire crystal as a replacement. Shouldn't be more than $20.. 27.5 x 2.5 or 27.5 x 2.0 may be easier to find and will still fit well."
Does that mean generic 27.5 x 2.0/2.25/2.5 will fit into the 1000's case?
