Well there is the Tag Heuer sponsored Porsche 911 RSR driven by actor/racer Patrick Dempsey. He finished second in his class at Le Mans. Not too shabby.

He must also fancy himself as a modern day McQueen, as I noticed he loves to wear the Monaco.

    Hello Mspeedster,
some moments ago, the WEC 6 hours race at the Nürburgring finished.
Good luck: In LM GTE Am the Dempsey-
Porsche took fourth place. In LMP1 the
    Porsche 919 Hybrid made a 1-2.
Bad luck: I will leave hospital next week,
so I have no pictures of the race (sorry
Hubert, let's try again next year). In the
meantime you perhaps can have a Look
    at www.fiawec.com.

    Cheers
    Wern

Mark Webber's 919 took the win, was great to see that in LMP1, and to see Audi not winning for a chance!

While I understand their decision to focus on the GT-R GT3 I can't help but wonder why they even bothered with this program. Feels like they never committed fully to it and it smacks of corporate maneuvering with opposing agendas within the company. Shame for all the folks within the program that DID commit to it, best of luck to all of them.

That's a real shame. The great thing with this programme was its boldness...and surely if you are going to take a radical approach there is a good chance that it won't work in the first year (McLaren Honda?). They should have committed to the programme for at least 2-3 years to give it a real chance.
