As the 10th anniversary of the TAG Heuer Connected watch approaches (approximately one year from now), it deserves some wrist time once again. Still runs like on the very first day!

TAG Heuer introduced its first smartwatch, the TAG Heuer Connected, in November 2015. This watch was the result of a collaboration with Intel and Google, combining the classic design of the Carrera series with modern technology. The TAG Heuer Connected was the first Swiss luxury smartwatch on the market.

Do we expect some Special Edition next year? What do you think?
Does somebody else still own and wear a SAR8A80 (Cal E1)?

Hello

I also have the wonderful Gen1 still working on my wrist, purchased in June 2016 and used practically daily since that day

It has suffered the passage of years and from the watch bought that day only the external part, case and strap remains, now Inside there is a connected fossil watch working with the same functions as the Tag and some more such as heart rate and NFC payment. I was not willing to lose the beautiful box of, for me, the most beautiful connected Tag.

Wow. Did you do the replacement of the inner part yourself?

If I did it myself, disassembling the Gen1 and the fossil is easy, the complicated thing is separating the fossil screen from its crown without damaging it, once that is done the fossil fits perfectly in the Tag Heuer case, it is a 45 watch mm, but the screen fits well, I have even managed to get the side button to work to access the menu

Hello !!!!

Taking advantage of the fact that I did maintenance on my Gen 1, I have polished the case and reviewed the outer crown with matte black spray paint, I have taken some photos of the assembly of the fossil in the Tag case

These are all the parts

polished case

fossil module in the tag box, with the button working and some small pieces of rubber to keep the module fixed

Heart rate monitor connected and box closed

These are the tools, one to open the case and another to remove the strap

To dismantle the fossil it is a little more complicated but with patience it can be done, the most complicated thing is to repair the screen of the box

Greetings 😬
