·I just saw the new green TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 300 and wondered if the titanium case and bracelet were appreciably lighter than the traditional steel Aquaracer I have? If so, I might be tempted to trade up.
Yes, I read that while Grade 2 is lighter, it's more prone to scratches so I guess that's the trade-off.
I can confirm that this is the case. I'm fairly careful with my watches so can't speak to Grade 5's durability (yet) but just looking the wrong way at my No Time To Die Seamaster could give it a nasty scratch.
For me, those drawbacks negate the desirability of titanium on a watch. It's like the white-gold Rolex models—unless you just prefer the satisfaction of knowing it's gold, it looks virtually the same as the stainless models.
