I just saw the new green TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 300 and wondered if the titanium case and bracelet were appreciably lighter than the traditional steel Aquaracer I have? If so, I might be tempted to trade up.

Thanks for the reply. I did some digging and purportedly the Titanium model is 128 grams versus 208 for the stainless.

You’ll notice the difference. A lot of it will be in the bracelet

Meanwhile the 844 Edition isn't appreciably lighter than the steel 😒+

(Supposedly because Grade 5 titanium is a whole lot stronger than steel while weighing the same)

Yes, I read that while Grade 2 is lighter, it's more prone to scratches so I guess that's the trade-off.

I can confirm that this is the case. I'm fairly careful with my watches so can't speak to Grade 5's durability (yet) but just looking the wrong way at my No Time To Die Seamaster could give it a nasty scratch.

For me, those drawbacks negate the desirability of titanium on a watch. It's like the white-gold Rolex models—unless you just prefer the satisfaction of knowing it's gold, it looks virtually the same as the stainless models.

Yeah I agree, I actually would've preferred Grade 2. I think the green titanium case is awesome, but the dial's just not for me.

Does anyone know what grade the older aquaracers are? My 43mm night diver is noticibly lighter than my 41mm c5

I think the DLC coated titanium watches were grade 2. The surface on my Drive Timer wasn't exactly super durable...
