Stiff crown on Carrera 5

Just bought this and i love it. I have however, found the crown to be stiff. Stiff to pull out (or sterdy if you like), loose enough to wind anti-clockwise, but when i wind it up it does meet a fair bit of resistance. Has anyone else had this experience? Or any experience with this watch?
