Silver dials - share your favorites!

Saw this thread and thought I'd share a few pics of my three silver-dial watches:
- A Lange & Söhne Saxonia Thin
- Bulgari Octo Finissimo S
- TAG Heuer Carrera 60th anniversary limited edition

They all have very different takes on a silver dial, so it's quite interesting to contrast them with each other.

The Lange has a sort of grainy, matt dial. It looks very white in photos, but it's a lot more silver in real life. Hard to capture in the picture. The white gold of the hands and markers also has a lustre to it that's subtly different from steel, and again very hard to capture in the photos.

The Bulgari has a vertically brushed dial. I bought it from the London boutique (I'm not a Londoner but I was visiting). They had all three dial colours available for the brushed-polished steel Octo Finissimo (brushed silver, grained matt black, and sunray blue), which apparently is a rare occurrence, so I was lucky enough to be able to compare them all. The silver was my absolute favourite, slightly ahead of the black, which was surprisingly characterful in real life. Out of my three silver dial watches, I think it's the one that changes most with the light - it can go from very dark grey to almost white, depending on the lighting conditions.

The TAG Heuer is my most recent purchase, with the radially brushed dial. Again it varies quite a bit with the light, although less so than the Bulgari. Just love the vintage dial layout, and how it manages to be both sporty and classy at the same time.

Hope you like!

Thanks - glad people seem to like the Bulgari!

It does have some downsides. It's a total fingerprint magnet. And a bit prone to scratches, although so far thankfully just a few light scuffs on the bracelet. (I'd rather wear it and take the risk of some scratches, than keep it pristine but sitting in a safe ... seems to defeat the whole point of owning it.)

But there is something really great about wearing it under a dress shirt cuff, with a sharp suit on. Feels really sophisticated.

Would love to see that Bulgari dial in some different lights and angles 😎

My contribution to the silver dial collection 😀
This watch was is my favorite iteration of the Daytona. I think my attraction to this watch is the reason I fell in love with the 85th Autavia. Congratulations on being fortunate enough to have such a great watch

Through the silver spirit breathing life into this cold, whose presence is reflected in the icy chill of winter's breath.

Through the silver spirit as days of frost grow
old, take our fears and turn them into strenghts.
Take our fears and show us silver dial.

I had the same idea for my Orange one when it snowed on Wednesday. Intended to pop outside in my lunch break to do it, but it had long since melted away by then! 😀
