I'd also like to humbly submit my own Link Calibre 36 for the consideration of the Church.
I'll be the first to say it looks more platinum than silver. The edges of the indices and sundials, along with the hands, really outshine the silvery sheen on the dial.
Is the new Autavia permitted……
The Baltic I owned very briefly was a first edition watch, so maybe they've improved since then, but it didn't exactly have a feeling of high quality about it. It was a bit rattly and the case finishing (especially around the lugs) let it down. I sent it back because after a few minutes I knew I wouldn't wear it.
On paper you get a lot for your money, but personally I would save a bit more and go for the Longines sector dial.
Good point, that Longines is very sexy. The original might even be better than the Hodinkee LE.
I was looking up the Baltic and Longines all evening yesterday 😉
Since both of these are part of the standard line-up I'll take my time.
I was very impressed by the Aquascaphe, the case finishing was spot on. Perhaps they have indeed improved. Given their rise to stardom they have little choice but to up the ante.
Jim, get Furlan Marri silver dial
If you like Baltic chronograph may i suggest Furlan Marri chronograph as they might releasing their automatic chronograph this year. Might be hard to find though. Given the hype.
Edit: i am not a furlan marri fans but design watch their chronograph is not bad.
Do things like Baltic get faked?
That said, I'm pretty sure I've never seen a fake Baltic. Faking tends to be a volume business - far more money in knock-offs of the bigger brands like Rolex.
