Yes, it's a nice watch, especially if you get it at a good price. The gold bezel does scratch up though, well any gold will I guess because it's soft.
Reunited at last and what a coincidence this thread appeared. I wasn't sold it or anything. Put it in safe place and haven't got the chance to go since the starting of pandemic. So yesterday I just go ahead and took this one out from deep slumber.
So this thread made me realize I don't have a single silver dial in my collection. I got blues, blacks, whites, greys, and even some other colors, but no silver. This one is probably closest. My 90s Monaco 50 can look silver-ish in certain lighting, but it's really not silver. OTOH, my wife seems to love the silver dials.
I was thinking about this last night and finally decided on the classic Carrera 2447S as my contribution-here she is-
Thanks Jim! In this case I was spoilt as Heuer had a knack for producing beautiful silver dials it seems! I'll try my hand at a couple more in a bit......
And notoriously difficult to photograph-Autavia 11630-(these have the most amazing dials that change from dark silver to flat white depending on the angle/light.....)
Seeing all the Heuer here (and my own Telemeter) made me realize how i am not "a Rolex person". This is not a post about taking a swipe at Rolex (i used to own Rolex too), it's a good watch, very reliable and won't hurt your pocket should you decided to sell it. I totally get that. I just don't understand how someone can collect "only Rolex" and believe me, i met a lot of this kind of "only Rolex person". For the same amount of money, i'll sooner go for Moser. Anyway just my sudden thought when i look at my long unused Telemeter. It might change over the course of time. Who knows. I don't think i'll ever sell my Telemeter though. So far i received 3 offers for it. Very tempting
Otto please remember to learn from the horrible mistakes made by @imagwai Never sell a silver dialed watch, it will make your life less joyful
