second hand doesn't reset at 12oclock

hi
I got a carrera calibre 17 for Christmas
I've worn it a couple of time and have noticed
that the red second hand is not aligned to 12 o'clock
Marker
I can start and stop the the chronograph and and when I go to reset the hand goes to 1 second past 12
is there anything I can do to correct this or does it need to go back to the shop?

It's an easy adjustment for a watchmaker, but not something you can easily attempt yourself (plus it would invalidate any warranty if you did). I think a trip back the shop is required I'm afraid.

it's easy to fix yourself! Unscrew the crown all the way and pull out until it reaches the stop position. Then hold both buttons down until the second hand does a full rotation around the clock face. Now yu can use the top button to adjust it forward a second and the bottom button to adjust it back. Mine sometimes doesn't respond but if you keep trying it will work and you can reset it without sending it off to get it fixed... hope this helps

wow - sorry! I've spent weeks trying to fix the problem myself and finding no answers so I wanted to share it once I'd fixed it, which I did exactly 3 minutes before posting the replies - makes sense in my head to post it in as succinct a way as possible! Sorry if I offended!
Not sure what your little yellow men are doing but they don't look happy. As I said, apologies - just trying to help! (cheer up, by the way, it's only a watch!) 😀

Well I'm sorry too if you were only trying to be helpful, but to me it looked suspiciously like you were registering on lots of forums to promote your web address. You say you spent weeks trying to fix it but that advice is pretty plentiful on most watch forums - I'd say the issue crops up with someone new asking this same thing every few weeks. If I type "align chronograph hand" into Google then I get 120,000 results, most with similar advice to yours, and the top result is a video on YouTube showing you how to do it. (The caption to that video says "this is applicable to quartz chronograph watches only"!)

Well i had the same problem with my monaco before. But instead of the second hand it was the minute subdial. It always reset back to 1. Not 0.

I brought it back to the shop and they said i need to bring it to Tag's service center.

A week later it was fixed.

I did not know what they did in there. And i am unsure if the whole pushing button thing is in the manual book.

Anyway good to know there's alternative.

I'm guessing your watch is quartz, not mechanical? This won't work for mechanical watches like the one in the original post - that was my point.

Exactly as Imagwai says, this will only work on the quartz chronograph, if you have a mechanical chronograph the easiest way to do it is in my opinion taking out the movement and pull off the large second hand and push it back on the correct position. This would require special tools and a water-resistant test afterwards so better to bring it back to the AD or repair centre.
