Regular chrono running...

I try to run my automatic chronos at least once a month, but it never really occurred to me to run my quartz chronos regularly. Two of mine (6000 and Kirium) are now getting 'stuck' at random intervals and presumably need servicing - to be fair they are both 20+ years old and as I've only had them 2-3 years I have no way of knowing if they've ever been serviced. Makes me think though that it might be worth running my other 3 quartz chronos regularly to keep the oil moving.

It's a bit annoying to have to send them in to be fixed as I don't actually ever use the chronographs for timing anything! Maybe in future I'll stick to three handers!

Happens sometimes. I often find that my mechanical chronos need to be run a bit after coming back from service, to get all the oils in the proper places. Kind of like a break-in period with a car (in process, not in order to seat the pistons obv)

Try using them to time cooking or walks or whatever, gets to be fun 馃榾

Or get a winder. Set the chrono off and leave it there for a while. Obvs not useful for the quartz.

Probably a good idea, can't help thinking not using them does more harm than good!

Yeah, it is pretty noisy actually! Although some of that was background noise... I was surprised that it takes batteries rather than mains, but pleased as where I want to put it there's no plug nearby.
