Planning to buy a Tag for "GF"

I have a Link WJF211B and I always love the Link design because of its distinctive "S" design. Also "GF" as she could be a potential Wife.

Anyways just looking for suggestions...

I would like to get her a Link or Carrera, preferably Automatic. I'm leaning more towards Link just because I like it lol.

Problem with the current Link is that they don't have Automatic anymore.

If I buy an older Link it would be the Link WAT2311 Caliber 7 Design. I'm up for the diamonds as the "numbers" but not more than that. Problem with this its rare to find a new one.

Here is my predicament
1) If I buy an older Link its rare to find a new one
2) If I buy used not sure about it for a "gift" lol (but some of them are still expensive esp with diamonds)
3) Link vs Carrera
4) Carrera is slightly more expensive
5) Would really prefer Automatic vs Quartz
6) Diamonds are nice but not required

GF doesn't really wear watch and don't really care much about it. So in the end its more me trying convince/get her one lol.

Formula 1 range also a choice. They have both automatic and quartz version for ladies collection

But if your GF doesn't really wear watch, can i suggest buying branded bags instead for her ?

Just my 2 cents

Hope you can solve this puzzle of GF/Wife gift (always a million dollar question)

Cheers

I wouldn't buy my girlfriend an automatic unless she particularly likes watches. I'm fairly sure my gf wouldn't ever wear her tag if she had to set it every time she picked it up.

Update:
Me - "if you had to set the time on your watch everytime you hadn't worn it for a couple of days, how often would you wear it"
Mrs dtf - "never"

I stand by my decision to buy her a quartz!

Is your gf into fitness ?

Not a big fan of the F1 Collection.

She's not really into "branded bags" wallet she already got.

Lately I've been trying to convince or get her to be interested in a watch, my approach is more as a piece of jewelry that tells time.

I'm currently in Germany, form Canada.

That was my thought too... Again part of it is "my preference" which is not really hers. I will surely keep that in mind...

Yeah, as DTF said, definitely no automatics for a girlfriend who doesn't wear watches. Plus you'll find it easier to find a quartz with diamonds and it will be cheaper - she probably won't appreciate they extra grand you spent to get an auto.

I just saw the CAH1212 in my local pawn shop window, it's a 41mm diamond bezel chronograph - I assumed it was a man's watch at that size but according to the TAG catalogue (how I wish they hadn't stopped making proper catalogues) it's a ladies model. Used price £1200.

But maybe the 32mm non-chrono version, 41mm is huge for a ladies watch.
