Photo Competition- #Carrera55

Next week on Instagram we'll be holding a photo competition to celebrate the 55th anniversary of the Carrera. The idea is pretty simple: show everyone your favourite photo of a Carrera and use the tags #carrera55 and #calibre11

There will be three prizes: two runner-up prizes of the new book charting the history of the Carrera, called "Ahead of its Time" and the winner will receive a special heritage pack, consisting of the two recent TAG Heuer books on the Carrera (as above) and the Autavia.

Many thanks to TAG Heuer for their support on this competition.

Will winners be selection at random, or should I start thinking about image composition (I'm not very good!)?

I got talked into Instagram by a couple other watch collectors, it's fun. Basically one whole big WRUW thread. Just don't get carried away trying to become a "celebrity" on it LOL

The only rules will be that they must be *new* photos (not just adding the tag to an old photo) and there'll be one prize for best vintage (pre 1996) and one for modern (post 1996).

There is an esteemed panel of judges consisting of me...and maybe someone from TAG Heuer if they have time!

I think I’ve already taken and posted the best picture of my Carrera I recently got, but will participate anyway as part of the Calibre11 community 👍

I just enjoy seeing and sharing with like minded people photos of my hobbies via a simple platform. Randomly seeing pictures has given me ideas on watches that hadn’t been on the radar previously. Love it.

Just left my Carrera at the dealers to have the condensation sorted, something tells me it'll be all over before I get it back.

Yes, a while back I created this account just for sharing watches, but hadn't used it... till now. 😀

Instagram is fun, and it doesn't require involvement like facebook or others. Just look at photos relating to subjects of interest to you.

I recently started following a certain hubert heuer. Let's see.

I use my non public account for two things:

1. Pictures of my son for my mother to enjoy

2. Following a couple of dozen watch accounts and looking at watches an unhealthy amount of time every day.

Agree. Just nice photos- not in-depth or technical...just a bit of fun

@OttoWilliam has kept quite literally kept to the theme as I think he’s up to 55 Carrera posts already.

@TonyStark do it. You can share as little or as much as you want. The filters help to tweak your pics and it’s a great way of seeing your friends latest time piece, or in my case cars my friends are out driving. Pictures I generally wouldn’t share on my FaceBook as people would see it maybe as showing off....but not on Instagram
