Its actually a fantastic watch. Apart from the fact, its a bit scratched it's flawless.
This my experience:

recently bought a connected 45 online from the watch gallery. After unboxing, the watch started up ok but when i performed an update the watch crashed, I drained it and charged it up but the watch when it came back on was still in the same state - frozen on the TAG screen.I have returned this watch but they have refused to replace it citing ;scratches on the bevel' which is a surprise to me seeing I had the watch for a day and never wore it out

My question is this If you invest such a sum in a watch wouldn't you expect it to work properly?? I've paid for a watch which I will not wear for another 3 weeks and when it is returned to me I am getting a repaired watch with scratches on a Bevel

TAG and the watch gallery have been very unhelpful and I do not believe this watch will survive long outside the 2 year warantee period

I will take this on the chin as costly mistake, but I will spread the word on this product! starting with - avoid at all costs!!

Seems like Tag are honouring the warranty. It would be down to the Watch Gallery to replace if they wanted to.

I understand your frustration at what's happened but it's only one experience so not sure what posting to multiple threads will really achieve other than allow you to vent.

Hi All,

I am new here. I got the Tag Heuer Connected a few days after it was released and it has been awesome except one thing.

On a few occasions, the watch has come of my arm. I don't know why or how but it seems the bracelet release claps on the underside are being depressed and then it just falls off. Its happened a few times and once on the tarmac as I came out the car and as a result, when it hit the ground it got scratched, I am absolutely gutted. This is a 2K watch and its scratched already, my heart sank. Anybody have any ideas on what I can do? has anyone else had this issue?

You can see the scratches on the top right and on the left.

I love the watch to bits but don't like the fact its scratched on the ceramic bezel!

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Mine came off the wrist twice ! Is your strap coming off completely or is it just undoing at the clasp ?

I too have had bumps and run ins with cement and other objects but most of the time, I was able to use finger nail and "pick" off the debris left on the ceramic coating. I have found no scratches and usually the white (which looks like scratches beyond the black coating) actually comes off. Now, I am not saying this is your case but worth a try. That ceramic coating is freaking hard as a rock.

I had mine 3 months and it was full of scratches, it has been a disappointing watch for £2650 - although Tag are rectifying the physical issues, it’s just not worth it & I’ll never buy another.

Something really wrong with my Tag Heuer Connected OG today after updating last night. Using iPhone with iOS11.0.3, and Tag is updated to latest build and apps last night. After updating, battery life was 100% at 8.20am before leaving to work, and now 25% at 12.20pm. That is only 4 hours. Before updating, battery life decreasing at only 5% perhour. Just for reference, my current build is NWS1.170511.006. Currently resetting the connection, uninstalling AW on iOS and see should there be any improvement

Shevagol - this is the same experience I was having earlier. I have found that the most consistent option with the best results are accomplished when you start over with complete re-set, uninstall AW, then re-pair. But others have had reported success with just a drain, re-charge. I have not unfortunately so please keep us updated on what you find. Related, I was experiencing better battery life on 10.0.2 than I am on the .3 release of IOS. I have Location on Watch and Phone, Face always on, Gestures OFF, and office email app with 75 - 100 emails each day and I get a maximum of 15 hours of battery life and last 2 hours are with battery save on.

damn, that sux mate. weird that your watch has scratches on it brand new.
seems to me like this is an issue with the reseller mate. they may have sold you a demonstration or preowned piece. you should send the watch to a Tag repair centre, show them your proof of purchase and ask them to investigate the scratches and the reseller.
imho, Tag are quite good when it comes to warranty claims (altho it does take a while for the warranty & servicing process to be completed).
as for the software issues on the watch, this is a known issue that can be resolved by a hard reset & re-pairing of the watch to phone. I've had to do the same thing with my last update as well. this issue is more with Android Wear 2.0 than the hardware itself.
Lets hope you can get your issues resolved and you can start wearing & using the watch as it was intended. cheers

Hi

Anyone got the connected 45 paired with Galaxy Note 8...apparently an issue with Bluetooth 5 stops it from pairing...is this correct...if so...Tag..what are you doing????
I have a Samsung S8+ with Bluetooth 5 and pairing with my phone was hassle free & quite simple with my connected 45.
try deleting all your existing bluetooth connections on your phone, doing a factory reset on the Tag and then try to re-pair the watch to the phone again. that should fix your problems.

Ok after ownership for now about a month my experience is the following
- with the standard watchfaces keeping GPS on I get about 3%/hour battery
-when I use Watchmaker faces (which are a 100% better) even if they have little in the way of activity I get about 4%/hour
- I have loaded about 10 or so Watchmaker faces that are all the sort of thing Tag followers would like and regardless of whether they have stopwatches or a button to be customized for weather or a dim mode the battery burn is the same ~4%/hour. Personally, I can live with that given the dim mode on the standard Tag faces pretty much sucks
- using the stopwatch or timer will decrease your battery quite a bit...haven't figured out an equation but it is apparent
- for some reason, if you are driving around and your car is connected to your phone it seems to stress out the watch battery a bit. I notice the watch is always showing what is playing and updates when a new song starts so that might burn a bit of battery
- seems to be some random battery drainage and somewhat unpredictable. Can't figure it out given I'm on IOS.

Great watch though. If Tag had their act together they would see this as a means to improving their bottom line rather than an interesting sideline.

Hello,
I buy my Tag Connected watch in August this year while l was in the U.K.
I am really disappointed with the battery life of the watch, the watch seems to have a mind of it own.
Sometimes it appears the battery is doing fine say down to 50% charge and then for some reason it’s drains very quickly down to zero say in about 4 hours.
I keep the wifi off, location is off and l only try to use with Bluetooth so l can receive message alerts.
I have had the watch back to Tag at least two times but nothing improves.
I have even started to take the USB lead and power bank out with me during day and today l charged it back to full power at 3pm this afternoon and now less than 6 hours later it’s already lost 50%
I always charge it 100% overnight.
The watch looks nice but it’s no good if l cannot get a full day out of the watch.
For a watch costing as much as it did, it’s performance is very poor.
I will take the watch back to Tag this coming week but to be honest l don,t think they know how to fix the problem.
I have a Apple Watch New also and that watch is far superior to the Tag Connected and when l go out l take the Apple Watch as a back up to the Tag.
I should not have to do this particularly as the Tag watch costs 3 times the price of the Apple Watch.
I just take photo of the charge left on the watch after l fully charged it less than 6 hours ago and now down 49%

Hey mate, what firmware build are you running on your watch?

Reason I ask is that I had very similar issues with my watch prior to a recent update. My watch also would not last a full day (it didn't even last to midnight from battery level @ 100% @ 9am). However, I have since updated the firmware on my watch to the following:

Android Wear Version - 2.0.0.168592122
FIRMWARE build number - NWD1.170824.001
Security Patch level - 1 September 2017

After this update, my watch battery usage has improved dramatically. I am now getting around 2 full days before a charge is required. Here is a screenshot of my average battery usage from the android wear app.
I would recommend updating your watch to the latest firmware if you haven't already. If you still experience battery drain issues, it's best you send your Tag back for a full warranty service.
Good luck!

Darn, I posted an old screenshot. Here is the current one from today. Cheers

It's the strap that is coming off from the bottom of the main watch. There are two small buttons on the bottom side that you can press to release the straps from the watch face, it's coming off at that point.

I'm afraid that I left the TAG 45 ownership family this afternoon. Had the watch for 5 months and overall found it to be "ok" but not that special. I'm frankly glad to see the back of it even at a substantive financial loss as it's not considered a great trade in option. Not the best buying experience for me by any means with constant charging / software glitches leaving me with flats first thing in the morning on several occasions. The fact that they sold it without a charger in the first place was laughable. Google Android is not best suited to iPhone (obviously) and there is seemingly a complete apparent lack of interest from TAG in developing an iPhone app to help. Found the screen / faces ok but the thrill of installing new / third party ones very quickly wore off. Again not much support from TAG in providing regular new faces for update which was disappointing. My overall ownership experience was not special from the outset, although in fairness I did like the design which generally looked good in the wrist and attracted some compliments. Functionality was not a patch on my previous Apple Watch 1 though. I'll think twice before buying another connected watch (or TAG product) in future based on this experience.

Update - it's now late October and I have continued to read this forum occasionally with some interest. I sympathise greatly with the disappointment experienced by others who have been unfortunate enough to have come into contact with the TAG 45, which has clearly not met their expectations of it. I was an early subscriber, but regarded the watch as a very poorly developed product from the outset, a situation that appears not to have improved at all. I've seen lots of examples for sale second hand at greatly devalued prices, normally offered from owners who have only had the watch a few months but are prepared to abandon their once prized watch so soon after buying them. I now regret that I ever purchased one, and regard my experience as a complete waste of money, and a lesson well learned not to touch TAG products in future. I note too, still no sign of the fabled iPhone app.

I note too, still no sign of the fabled iPhone app.

Which if you listened to many people state.....this app does NOTHING different than what the built in watch app Tag Heuer Studio does.....it really does nothing more than allow you to pick the same colors, watch faces, dial colors that you can on the watch itself. There is a reason it's not been a priority for Tag....it does NOTHING to contribute to the watch experience. I had iPhone before going to Android and if you are waiting for something magical to happen with this Connected app, then you are going to be waiting for a long, long time. I never use the Connected app on Android. Quite frankly it's useless as I can do the same on my watch (no different than when connected with iOS). Oh...sorry, you can have a picture as a background using Connected App on Android. That's the only difference.

Thanks for that tswire. I agree with all you say, however when I bought mine when it was released, I was promised the earth by the Goldsmiths salesman and quite frankly looking back it felt like I was sold it on a false premise. My view is that if the ios app does / will not contribute anything why don't TAG just state that openly, and own up to such limited ios functionality, rather than stringing loads of ios users along by selling new watches on false pretences? I am sure many with hindsight would have sensibly kept their money in their pocket.

I don’t really understand why so much complain about the watch.
It’s an android wear watch. It has the same issues/advantages that all the other ones.
It is highly priced because
1) it’s is made by a luxury brand. Like diamonds. It costs 20$ to polish, it is sold 2k
2) it’s not all plastic. They developed a special antenna on the bezel (it costs). The build materials are of higher quality than most watches
3) it is probably the only good looking watch.
As long as Tag continues to update the software I am pleased enough.

Sorry abeverat. It’s just my opinion and I didn’t set out to offend. It’s a high ticket item I agree with clearly a ton of profit built in. Has anyone had a look at the Mont Blanc summit perchance. That’s also a high ticket item and virtually the same thing, with a Heart rate sensor for around £700. If you like the TAG that’s great. I just got really tired of mine being a dog.

Hello

I am not offended, don’t worry. The only point I will agree with is that for that price you expect a perfect after sales. Anything below perfect is not acceptable.

People who get it scratched is not the watch’s fault now is it?

It’s like I bought a new BMW and while taking it home a cyclist scratched it as he tried to stop at a red light next to me and used my side to slow himself down with his arm but while doing so also let the metal paddle a little too close to my car which left a long scratch from rear door to the front one ... was only a kid, what was I supposed to say to him? Or do I go to bmw asking why their paint or metal didn’t withstand a bike? Or perhaps I should have gone and vented in bmw forums I guess or something like that ...

Anyway, it’s just a watch guys, more important things in life to worry about than a little tech or connectivity failing every now and then or a little scratch on something ...
