You've touched in the key aspect. Some parties, who don't even have the watch, are making pronounced and repeated judgments, which casual readers who are not following the discussions closely, can interpret as an overwhelming negative impression of the product. What I am trying to ensure is that the we present the facts, in a balanced way.

Of course everyone has a right to voice their opinion, but we have to ensure those are interpreted in the right context and with a counter argument, when appropriate.

Most users with a positive experience will probably never post about it, and typically minority affected by issues tend to be the most vocal. So my intent to ensure we are being fair by posting the good with the bad, with substantive backing to prove the claims. While providing context for voices that are based on opinions, rather than actual ownership experiences.

Well, I just hope that everything will work out for all of those who are having issues. Money doesn't grow on trees so if this was the first big purchase for someone here, I only hope for the best and that TAG//Intel/Google/JCB/ heck even Jack will fix the issues ASAP.

Left it at home today after charging. It's used 20% in 13 hours so that's over two days battery. So it's just the action of being worn, face lighting up throughout the day, maybe gps tracking your movement.

So is that an android issue? Or is that maybe the watch face itself uses more battery than expected. I dunno.

Absolutely; that is what the collective goal should be. Identify the actual issues, getting a sample of the parties affected, and then tracking their resolution.

Sorry Hubert, I don't think generalized judgement call is what I am doing or the other people who are having issues are doing here. There are legit issues with the product and like anything you pay for you, have the right to voice your displeasure. Everyone will take credit for a job well done but will pass the buck to someone else when something goes wrong. And no, I am not trying to derail the discussion because after all, this thread is called Ownership Experiences- 2017 TAG Heuer Connected Modular 45. Maybe I should of clarify that when I said the watch 'has been nothing but a disappointment', I was referring to what I am reading from this thread.

Man, I couldn't care less about this smartwatch because this is not what TAG is too me but when people around me are asking me about this product I have to refer them to this thread because this is coming from real users.

BTW, I knew why I called Rolex & Omega owners dbags for a reason. All these clowns that are knocking TAG after reading the issues with the smartwatch are you guess it, Rolex & Omega owners. Great! Fun times!

I'm very very lucky to own a Rolex and an Omega, amongst others. I also now own the TAG Connected Modular. I don't believe I'm a 'dbag', as you call it. Inexperienced as I am with smartwatches, I think there have been some very valid objective threads airing opinions and experiences which I've been watching with interest. Personally, I think this is a software based issue that will be resolved. If by some slim chance it turns out to be a hardware issue, then I believe that TAG will make good, whichever the case. What is a 'dbag' by the way?

That doesn't sound too bad. Why do you question if that is an issue?

Because when I wore it yesterday it was dead in 12 hours. Didn't use it other than just as a watch on my wrist.

Maybe the gps is affecting battery. Maybe the face flicking on and off as you work affects it. Who knows.

I wonder if you had an application that was running in the background consuming memory?

Anyway. That app would still have run today. It's definitely the act of wearing it that does something. Gotta be a software glitch somewhere. If it was the battery hardware it would have died again today.

Hey pauls, I mean no disrepect or anything. I was only referring to the people around who also happens to wear Rolex & Omega. Been driving me insane!

If you must know, dbag stands for 'douchebag'. I know, not the prettiest....

And btw, I own a Rolex and a couple of Omegas myself ::facepalm1::

Hello

The article below discusses the fact that GPS seems to drain the battery

https://www.wareable.com/android-we...eview-1?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter
Despite the addition of GPS and a more impressive display, Tag has stuck with the same 410mAh battery that should deliver all day battery life and that's pretty much what we found using it. If you're not using it intensively all day, then you could push to a day and a half making use of the battery saver mode. Most of the time it's going to be a good for a day's play.

When you factor in GPS, that battery however takes a major hit. After a 45 minute run in the morning, it was down to 45% just two hours later. To get it powered back up, there's a nice charging disc that you can clip the watch onto and it'll take a couple of hours getting from 0 - 100%

16,5 hours and still 20% battery left, on the updated build. Its now absolutley useable for me. Sure it would be nice if it gets a little better, but for my daily use its ok.

Hubert, I love your passion for everything TAG be I'm going to have to go with RickGM. You need to call out TAG on this! ......
RickGM, quick question for you. Is this your first time with TAG? If so, has this experience giving you second thoughts about the brand?

Btw, just found this article. Interesting read if you are interested:

http://www.timepiecechronicle.com/f...hecking-jean-claude-biver-the-impossible-task

I've owned a Carrera CV2113/0 for around 10 years which since the advent of smart watches has been in the drawer for a few years. My first smart was the Moto360 (Android Wear) followed a few months ago by the Samsung Gear S3 Classic with Tizen O/S. I fell in love with the TAG Connected before buying the S3 but decided to wait for the promised V2 which turned out to be the Modular 45. I have little interest in the Modular features which to me are gimmicky. My preference would be the Black bezel, stainless lugs, tan leather band and back up black or white silicone band. As soon as the 45 was launched I went to my local jeweller to see it in the flesh and try it out. I thought it looked amazing - even better than the V1. However it wasn't possible to check out the performance since it was locked in display mode and no-one knew how to get it out. That seemed extraordinarily strange to me - a bad start that TAG hadn't schooled the retailers.
I was also disappointed (and still am) that the watch doesn't have a speaker - something that had proved invaluable on my S3.
I then found this forum and was shocked at the reported state of the battery charge and the inability for the watch to last the 25 hours advertised (which in itself is poor compared to the 4 days I get with the S3).
I had waited with great expectations for the launch of this watch and was ready to hand over my £1500, only to be desperately disappointed with a reluctance to buy.
Having waffled on and probably upset Hubert with negativity, the only way I can answer your question is yes my long term love and respect for the brand has been tarnished by the launch of the significantly less than perfect TAG Heuer Connected Modular 45.

Interesting. Haven't you suffered with the battery charge stopping at less than 100%?

Good background. I still think you'd have a good experience if you decided to pull the trigger on the Connected 45mm. You could also wait for the "larger" release which is supposed to happen in November. Or stay tuned till some of these updates get sorted out.

As you may have seen, some of us are getting over two days, when the watch has basic use, with a good amount of "idle" time. What I do is take it off my wrist when I am working on my computer. This also helps to avoid scratches on the clasp.

In the end I think we are all on the same team. We just have very high expectations of TAG Heuer and anything below that is disappointing. It's a good problem to have if you are a brand... they just have to live up to their promise consistently. 😀

Yes, with the latest update the battery "stops charging" at 97%, unless ADB is enabled.
