It is a fantastic looking watch…but the Pelagos just looks so cool in titanium with not a rivet in sight.

Friends of well designed chronos (This is a TAG/Heuer forum after all… ;)), please help me out here…

Am I the only one to think that the following is frankly not a joy to behold? It just looks slightly disproportioned and like trying to marry too many design cues to me:

No argument from me, not my cup of tea either. The strap isn't helping matters.

And yet it’s generally lauded like the second coming of Christ. Weird…

Between the pushers and the handset, one alone would already be enough to put me off. And that’s w/o getting to the actual “meat” of this watch.

FXD out of these two. The fixed spring bars limit your strap choices to NATO somewhat, but it's such a good-looking and unique watch.

Agreed. I tried the normal Pelagos prior to getting the Seamaster and really liked it. Different but cool.

Loved the FXD from the moment it was released, as it’s even more different and offers something new by its limitation on being strap only. Still not managed to actually see one in the flesh though.

I'd personally wait for the new 'blue' 39mm Pelagos - which I'm sure they'll do.

But both are nice, the OG Blue Pela is a bit slab sided but has that lovely bracelet and indices. whilst the FXD Pela is also very unique.

    Can't go wrong with either.

Have to agree, I love my BB58, but a no date Sub for me is the King, looking back when I started and had an abundance of money wish I bought a 14060m 2 liner, or before the kitchen & Panerai the 114060. But now prices are crazy and I'm more than happy with the BB58.

I was also very impressed by the SPB Seiko

I am certainly not in the market for one right now, so it’s academic currently. There will no doubt be a blue 39mm by that time, I agree.

It appears that there are only 2 rules:

    1. Every person should buy a BB58.
    2. On the odd occasion when a BB58 isn’t suitable, rule 1 applies.

Careful what you say Rob, otherwise you'll be getting a visit from the compliance squad

I don’t believe anyone has identified a scenario where a BB58 isn’t suitable, but you’re correct, in that unlikely situation, apply rule one.

I really want to try the ti pelagos, it looks like the perfect everyday beater. If I didn’t have my aquaracer beater it’d definitely be on my shopping list.
