Oh. That is a nice one! What model is that? Love the subtle orange tone.

The Orange dialed one is an 844 Orange, but the later versions of it, also Heuer branded available, are the 980.005 (auto) and 980.007 (quartz). All are the 42mm case.

The same two watches I suggested previously side-by-side.

Not similar in case shape/design, but has the colour scheme required and you said older an option (you didn’t say vintage, but I’ve taken poetic licensing). Autavia 11630MH.......easy to buy a custom strap in Orange and boom.

Or more Orange is always better 844/980.007/980.005? :taunt:

You see, I quite like Orange.

Now that is most certainly on topic! Great looking watch. (And background) :D

What model is that if I may ask? i’m assuming vintage.

Thank you

I assume you mean watch and not car. Car is only a few years old :p

It’s a Heuer 1529 from about 1979. It’s 80’s tasting with the fume dial. I absolutely love it.

It does have that 70s/80s ‘cool’ vibe going on. The matte/brushed finish looks amazing.

I saw something very similar to that in the TAG museum, I think it was on loan though, it wasn't in one of the cabinets...

That will be the Heuer 1611

Quite a few from the same time with similar dials (1611, 1614, 1529 amongst a few others)

I rather like this Orange one too. Not sure itnis worth the proce though tbh. Seems very steep considering the base watch. I’m hoping it will bomb on the 2nd hand market in a few years :D
Has a very sharp look to it.

Any other options in the TH world?

What about this one?

Another option would be the TAG Heuer Connected Modular 45. You can choose one with black lugs and black buckle, together with the mechanical module Calibre 5 (3 hands) or the Calibre 16 chrono, and the orange rubber strap. Total price of the TH CM45 + Mechanical module is very similar to the “only mechanical” equivalent watch, you get the Modular system in addition, and then you can sell the connected module alone if you are not interested in.

I also love this orange & black combination. The orange rubber strap is arriving soon at my “Modular collection” ;), and I’m looking for the orange alcantara leather strap of the CM45 Kingsman edition, although it’s not easy to find...

Yes, I have built up a pretty good stock of Original parts so when ever I can I use them or find them. I'm constantly trying to buy original parts as well to continue to build up my stock for future restorations or builds!

Just arrived a new addition to my “TH Modular collection”: the orange rubber strap with black buckle. It looks great with the proper face! :)
