I bought my TAG aquaracer on the 30th April 2022. Since I have had it it has never kept good time. In nearly 2 years it’s been on my wrist for a maximum of 2 weeks and has spent most of its time with TAG. First 3 times it went back it was gaining or losing 5-7 minutes a week. When it came back after the 3rd time it then stopped every other day. I sent it back for the 4th time. It had a full service (apparently) I collected it on the 30th January. The guy at the shop changed the time and wound it for me, it stopped on Thursday 1st Feb. I changed the time and wound it. It stopped the next day Friday. I’m now back to wearing my old tag watch yet again. I don’t take my watches off so it’s nothing to do with the watch being left for any period of time. How can a watch go back to tag because it’s stopping every other day have a full service and come back and do the same thing! If blows my mind. I no longer have any confidence in this watch or TAG. Anyone else got any experience of this. I’m at my wits end with it. I just want my money back. Unfortunately the shop I originally bought if from is now another jewellers. HELP

Hi Gaynor, well the first thing is the watch is still under warranty and second of all it doesn't matter where you bought it from you can take it to any AD. Personally I would find your nearest TAG Heuer boutique and take it to them and explain the situation.

Still never had an issue with any ETA movements I’ve had. And I’ve had 20 or more 2824s (cal. 5) maybe I’m just lucky, but this is literally only something I hear on this forum lol.

calibre 5 is a selita sw200 now. Think ETA but shittier. Winding my calibre 5 Aquaracer is like trying to hand crank a 1960s diesel engine.

I’ve been toying with 3d printing an Aquaracer to 1/4” adapter so I can measure the torque needed to turn the crown.

Listen, I am just a scientist, not a watchmaker.

Shit. I forgot. Yeah I can’t stand Sellita. I hear “it’s just the same as ETA” way too much. I think Sellita has planted some people in the community lol.

The Sellita sw200 movements aren’t even clones. I don’t think they have a single interchangeable part with the ETA 2824 movements. This is something that bothers me because there are plenty of other movement makers that can supply these brands. Sellita is just the cheapest “Swiss” brand. Even Soprod has a better track record. Where are those Ronda automatic movements? They exist.
