hello i am new to this forum and to tag heuer. i recently purchased an automatic one and i dont wear it everyday. so i want to ask, will it affect the overall performance of the watch in the long run or it is ok to wind it up whenever you want to wear it?
also is it possible to find out if i have been given a second hand watch through reference/registration number at the back of the dial??
thanks in advance

Generally, I just set and wind my watches when I want to wear them. If it's the watch I usually wear every day, but decided on another for the day, I like to keep the usual one going by winding it. That way I don't have to set it again in a day or two.

I rotate my watches quite frequently so they nearly ways need a quick hand wind and time set. The watches are designed to be used this way, so not an issue as far as I'm concerned. In theory, the crown thread and seals and surrounding areas could get more wear over time.
