Hi Aquagraph, I'm a newbie. What do you mean? It's actually not sold out and this is just to create a buzz?
The watch has been on the website for a while and showing as sold out. Now it 'could' be sold out, but given that it's a tourbillon and very expensive I have my doubts. This is nothing new either, lots of limited editions go up on the website and instantly say 'Out of Stock' - which as you suggest is almost certainly a ploy to create the illusion that the watch is sold out. Welcome to the forum by the way. Did you buy a Mario F1 Cal16?
Got my Mario Kart Cal 16 recently and sadly it doesn't suit my wrist. A bit too big at 44mm and quite heavy. I was thinking of returning it to Tag, but i only get store credit. Might sell it off at retail now hopefully . Lovely watch though, love the strap!!!
I found the perfect shoes for those of you who shelled out north of $25K for the ridiculous Tourbillon Mario Kart F1. Yes, they are children's shoes, which sums up my feelings regarding those watches....
And at that prize level immobilizing capital must start to hurt - at least for the part-time scalpers... If one waits for the right moment (= just a little bit longer), you might be able to snag it from them below retail. Bodes well for next year's LEs
I had an email a week or so ago from tag saying I could order a cal16 as some stock had just turned up. It was sold out on day one apparently but as a ‘valued customer’ I have the opportunity to buy one. so obviously the cal16 may not have sold out either.
Apparently, but more likely they’ve got some watches they haven’t sold and have sent the same email to anyone who has purchased through the online boutique!
I honestly doubt they would be able to flip this. I had bought the Cal.16 Mario Kart which I did not like and was trying to sell it at retail (£3550). Zero bites from anyone. Eventually persuaded Harrods to take it back which they happily did since they had other people waiting for one.
