Black Monacos does nothing for me but the bracelet looks nice! Can imagine that this feels like a beast on the wrist though, big thick and heavy!

Hmmm that’s a different bracelet than the one I thought was coming out.
Only had a sneak preview late last year but I thought it had a more retro look to it...
    Hmmm

Nice, but there are things I like better about my Cal.12 Black McQueen:
    - silver (rather than white) subdials,
    - red accents on the handset,
    - the 12h area now looks a tad busy to me; like it better w/o the additional index.

Will take a look at the bracelet, though.

There’s an instructive side-by-side “slider” image in the article referenced in the opening post...

I think it would have to be blue and on a strap for me... (I never thought I'd say that!)

The feature is very useful to spot minor differences and small developments of the design, e.g. lenght of lugs and design of the pushers.

I think the black looks better than the blue, though still kinda gross with the running seconds. It all looks a little smushed-together IMO.
Bracelet's cool, looks almost like a modern-day version of the NSA
(EDIT: correctly pointed out in DC's article, of course :) )

Pondering whether to get the new bracelet. Like it better than the previous version. I'm a straps guy, but the bracelet changes the look and is more practical during hot sticky summer days.

@Calibre11 , your article says the bracelet is a $400 premium over the strap, I assume that's when buying the watch. What's the standalone price of the bracelet?

Not bad at all. Nice to see a bracelet option too. Good to see more Monaco!

will they only do the right right crown with the new movement - or will there be a left side crown option eventually?

Since H02 is an integrated chronograph movement they would have to change the construction of the whole movement so I doubt they will invest in that. The left side crown will probably stay only with the faux calibre11 (off the shelf Sellita movement with a disposable chronograph module flipped around)

Calling the DD module of the Cal.11/12 “disposable” seems over the top (and unnecessarily confrontational) to me. As a whole, Cal.11/12 still delivers the goods, IMHO. And given that this here is not an ETA/Valjoux (7753) vs. in-house situation as regards servicing (but the watch needs to go to TH in both cases), I don’t feel that going for the modular caliber is such a big deal...

Operating the DD module is certainly pleasant and I'm not astonished that quite a number of reputable watchmaker (TH, Tudor, Chopard to name a few) have used or keep using them.

Why? The chrono modules are not serviced when you send the watch for service. The chrono module is put in the trash and replaced with a brand new one. Is that not the exact definition of disposable? Has nothing to do with how well the modular movements operate, sure they do the job but servicing the module is too costly so its cheaper to just replace it.

I wish they would do the left side crown version with the 02 movement. The sapphire caseback on the 02s are very nice & for that price point i'd rather have in house. But alas as Jim mentioned I don't think they will. Shame as the 'calibre 11' style is the one I fancy. Bracelet seems great and hope to see when in the flesh in boutiques/ ADs once they are open again.
