Great review as always! I agree with you; this one would be great on a NATO strap. The current rubber strap doesn't do it justice.

I like the direction that TAG Heuer is going with the Aquaracer- there should be some low cost models like this one and the Camouflage/ Khaki models. But most of all, I'd love to see a new Aquagraph 😉

Wow really cool, I really like the texture of the dial! Quartz and rubber strap fits the watch perfectly 👍

The only thing I dont like is the price, not great value for money...

£1329 on montredo, I think that's reasonable value considering my steel on steel aquaracer was £800 or so about 10 years back, and this is ceramic on ti (with a much more interesting dial).

Great post David, I've been looking forward to this one. It's an interesting watch, a bit of a shame that it hasn't got the classic dial colour, but im guessing the white on black is very striking.

I might be tempted with one of these as a birthday present to myself next year 😀

Yes of course but it is a bit weird that you have to look at grey market prices to find them reasonable. I know that is the case for most Tag prices though...

Agreed, I would love to understand their pricing strategy.

Today i was visiting the store. Crazy how this 3 hander Aquaracer is priced as expensive as the calibre16 chrono black phantom.

Not a bad design though. Looks much better in real than in photo, IMHO.

This one is AUD2750 which is mind-blowing for a quartz Aquaracer. My Carrera Calibre 7 Twin Time was only slightly more!

I'm not sure why they chose to go with a rubber strap, a lot of the PVD Heuers and Tag Heuers never had the option for a rubber strap. The black jubilee would have been a much more fitting choice in my humble opinion of course.

I didn't think the price was too bad. In USD, it's $2150, which is $550 more than the 43mm steel Quartz

The main thing you get for your $550 is a titanium case instead of steel- same movement, same rubber strap. I don't how how much a titanium case is "worth" in the market...but a few hundred sounds right. So if it is over-priced, it's only by a little.

On a side note, and at the risk of undermining my own argument, this is a lot of watch for $1,650

Well Omega charge considerably more, between $1500 and $2500 over SS models for a Ti Case/bracelet. So $500 seems quite reasonable in comparison. That’s a nice lookng Aquaracer. Love the lume shot in the review and the mostly monochrome design looks great.

That would have been a great ‘name’ for the design! I expect that the licensing fees to officially call it that would have been huge.

I think the problem is that the general level of pricing is too high on these models. Around USD 1000-1100 for that blue steel model and perhaps USD 1500 for this new one would make more sense in my eyes. Comparing to e.g. Longines VHP you are paying a big premium for the design and it saying TH on the dial.

That’s a premium I think applied accross the entire range tbh. Maybe more accute at the ‘lower end’ of the spectrum. I guess that’s reflected somewhat in the street price acheivable (even from ADs) compared to RRP. Same true to some extent for a few other big brands. Is a non limited edition Monaco worth nearly £5k? At 20% off I think it is fair value. My comment above was at the proportional extra charged for a Ti case. But I agree with your point overall. Though I’m not that familiar with the Aquaracer line as I favour Omega for ‘divers’. Just prefee the styling options on the Seamaster and Planet Ocean. Never seen any water with it though. Just like the styling 😁

Monaco and Carrera are primarily what draw me to the TH brand so i’m not very familiar with the wider range. Though I do quite like the monochrome design of this piece. Something out of thwbordinary about it. Makes anchange feom the usual blacks, blues and Orange that seem to dominate divers.

I don't think so. The Aquagraph is such a unique and cool watch, I wouldn't trust them not to balls it up. 🙁

As for the Nightdiver... when I saw the pictures I was like 'Wow'... but then I got to try it on and I was like 'okay...'.
