路Hi All,
Not sure about the protocol around here, been lurking for a short while, finally back in the fold as a Monaco owner and just wanted to introduce myself as a new member to the forum. After a long wait I got my hands on a 50th Anniversary Monaco last week. As a bit of background I have owned a blue calibre 17 Monaco in the past along with a couple of CAW 2113 Grey Gulf models at various points in history which I absolutely loved, but the one I really wanted was the 40th Anniversary model. I got wind that there would be a 50th Anniversary edition last summer and hot footed my way down to the Flagship store in Oxford Street in London to put my name down presuming it would be similar to the original 1133B / 40th Anniversary version. To cut a long story short when I heard the rumours that it was going to be green and brown I had a bit of a wobble and nearly pulled out but in the end I decided to go for it on the basis that if I really didn't like it I probably wouldn't lose too much if I wanted to sell it on. As I said I've had it about a week and worn it most days. In a similar way to the old grey Gulf version the photos really don't do it justice and I've really bonded with it. In direct sunlight it definitely looks green and brown but very often it flips between sold dark grey and in certain lights it looks to have grey/silver stripes. I'd also like to say thanks to the guys at the Oxford Street store for the professional and enthusiastic service throughout which was definitely above and beyond my general experience at the majority of ADs. I've attached a wrist shot and the obligatory steering wheel shot for good measure.
