Now this one is a great improvement over the old F1 model.

At last a gmt aquaracer 馃榾 Shame it has a pepsi dial, I really love the black/blue dials on the current aquaracers, but this does look good.

Yes, I also prefer the blue/black (Batman) color scheme.

It's an improvement on the F1 GMT but I still prefer the WAK211A.

I would assume it's like the previous ones and if a true GMT would have a bi-directional bezel.

Anyone know if the bezel rotates?
It would have to, that's how the GMT function works. The GMT hand runs at half the speed of the hour hand, and isn't independently adjustable, so you turn the bezel to the second time zone.

Ermm, no. The GMT hand is independently adjustable. With the crown pulled out one stop, turning the crown one way adjusts the date and the other way adjusts the GMT hand.

Can someone tell me whether this new AR GMT is 43 mm or 41 mm? Personally, I prefer the 41 mm version of the AR. I'm also assuming the bezel insert is ceramic?

This new AR looks great! Mind you, I really like the look of the F1 GMT as well.

It would be good to confirm, the F1 GMT bezel is aluminium

I don't fully know the history behind this watch or Rolex's GMT Master II, or which one came first. But to a casual observer such as myself, it seems like TAG Heuer is producing knock-off replicas of the GMT Master II with obviously the same color schemes (black-blue and now blue-red).

Why is TAG Heuer doing this? They are a major Swiss watch company, not some tiny third-world shop. I read a lot of criticism about TAG Heuer online, but "this model is a direct copy of Rolex" is one issue that I cannot help but agree with.

Heuer's been doing GMT Red/ Blue for 50 years:

Did they copy it 50 years ago? Yes, probably...but there's plenty of heritage here irrespective.

Is this going to be an official release or is it someone playing around? I hope for the latter because I thought the days when TAG was called out for directly copying the Submariner were well behind us.

It's an official model- see my comment above. Heuer/ TAG Heuer has well and truly enough heritage in the Red/ Blue GMT department for this to have authenticity

I'm sure there were plenty of the Red/Blue GMT back in the day. If they did it to the Autuvia, then it wouldn't be too bad. To do it like this seems almost a direct copy of Rolex. It doesn't look good.

The batman blue/black F1 also came to market around Rolex's offering. They are probably keen ride on the same wave.

The Black/ Blue GMT has no Heuer history, so I can't make the case that it draws on any vintage heritage...but blue/ red is different in my book, irrespective of whether it's on a Carrera, Aquaracer or F1.

Well at least the bezel is aluminum and not ceramic....

And a VERY big thank you for all your excellent work on covering Baselworld Calibre 11. I can't speak for everyone here but for me, your devotion to bring the absolute best out of the brand is next to none. Again, thank you!
