I've just bought a new Monaco CS2111 (re-edition era) and it has a third party basic buckle on it. I wanted to check if anyone knows what was the original buckle / clasp that was meant to go on the strap - just wanting to complete the look to it's original glory. options are in the pic

It's certainly not definitive, but nearly all the images on Google showed it with the Heuer buckle.

I know the Carrera CS series reissues of that era came with the Heuer buckle. Don't think the deployant clasp came in until the later (39mm) CV series reissues. If I had to guess I'd say the Monaco CS series would also have had the tang buckle.

I took this pic from my 2001 TAG Heuer catalog. Confirmation that it originally came with a pin buckle.

More info on the strap options. Both the Carrera & Monaco came with pin buckles. Only the Monza was available with a deployant clasp.

Thanks for that. I think I'll bastardise the watch and go in for a Heuer clasp for it - love those clasps!!!!

I fitted one to my CS3110 Carrera. Definitely the way to go.
