Let me spam the group with some hands-on pics of the Rattrapante. Got a call from Harrods yesterday evening about an open slot today. 6 am flight to London and definitely not disappointed!!!!

The cutout sapphire dial is evident and adds amazing depth to the watch. The watch itself is insanely light. Surprisingly thin and sits very well on the wrist. The shape is more rectangular than square, in line with the 1133.

Nice post @YG_Rulz. I hope they indeed develop a production version of this movement, so that we can get a more reasonably priced version.

Cool! Did it change your opinion of the watch seeing it person @YG_Rulz?
The watch itself is quite lovely and is a very good fit for a regular Monaco wearer. My only qualm still is the price. Even the ADs mentioned that a 20% lower price might have attracted more interest.

But there's 1x piece already sold in UK and another 2x persons really interested in the watch. So there are buyers who want the watch for the novelty that it is.

There are also talks of Freddie Jr. handing the watches to the buyers in private engagements, with a potential for buyers to ask for special access to the Monaco GP, the TAG parties and other insider high profile events. So one can see this watch as a 100k investment which lets you rub shoulders with the ultra-rich and increase your network ( and net worth...).

Apparently the titanium movement itself is worth about £50k (out of the £100k base price). So i suppose a regular non-titanium movement would definitely make things cheaper. Maybe a conventional non-sapphire dial could push the watch down to the £20k range - in line with the gold Carreras.

But one can only guess

BTW, the watch I handled was a prototype and I was given strict instructions on how to use the chronograph and the split second to avoid spoiling the movement. So there are teething issues in the movement which are expected to be resolved by the time of the first delivery.

Seems like there was a rush to release the watch at W&W to probably build hype for the Only Watch auction.

You flew to London to see a watch you didn't intend to buy? And the watch was a prototype? :D Dang, I love me a dedicated hardcore watch addict!

In all fairness, it was just a 1.5 hr flight down from Scotland, cost me £125. A small price to pay for the most controversial and expensive release of the century (so far).

I was also told not to wear the watch properly as it would spoil the strap ::facepalm2::
