Monaco Calibre 12 calibrate minute hand with indices

Hello,

i have a monaco calibre 12.
When setting the time i pull out the crown to second position when the second hand reaches 0(12 o'clock position)
I adjust the minute hand so it lines up perfectly and when the seconds on my iphone reach 0 i push the crown back in.
The second hand on the watch is running but it seems the minute hand does not advance the first 10-15 seconds.

so when looking 1 minute later i would expect that the minute hand is still alignd with the indices but it is offset.
the watch works and keeps good time but iit is strange the minute hand does not advance right away.
anybody else noticed this?

workaround for mee is i stop the watch at 45 seconds, align the minute hand and start it from there.
i do not know what happens when you pull out the crown, does it stop the balancewheel or does it unlock the gears?
it looks like when the crown is pushed back in the minute hand takes so time to get moving

I do the same, think it’s just wear on all the parts and it it takes 15 seconds or so to everything to mesh up the slack to disappear, not ideal but cheaper than a service.

ok. great to hear it is nothing serious(like a broken toothwheel)
like i said the rest is workinhg perfectly and the datewheel is aligned correctly
i see a lot of heuer 02's with misaligned datewheels so that and the noisy rotorwheel decided me to go for the classic calibre12

maybe it is a feature and not a bug. 😀
if this way the geartrain gets loaded gradually it avoids wear

Movements are mysterious things, I have a Calibre 17 Grand Carrera and I noticed when I start the chrono the minute hand moves forward slightly. I complained to Watchfinder and was told that it is normal on this watch. I honestly thought they were trying to pull a fast one so I contacted TAG Heuer directly who comfirmed in writing that this is true.

I bought a pretty new Gulf calibre 12 and I have exactly the same problem. So I expect it is just one of those quirks of the movement.

Buy a Rolex. Your problem will go away.

Seriously, it's common with ETA/Sellita movements. I set the watch by rotating CCW until it's at a quarter minute after the target (after hacking the seconds hand to twelve). Release as normal and when the seconds hand gets to three, the minute hand is where it belongs.

It's caused by backlash in the geartrain. No idea how Rolex eliminates it as all gear pairs need backlash to work properly.

Regarding Rolex.
As a valued customer you can not even buy a rolex anymore(GMT-II) and there is also no waiting list anymore.
Rolex chooses to use the channel for resellers who only want to make profit on the black market.
They buy all the new watches(GMT-II 10K) and resell them for 20K. thus there is no stock for consumers
this is not customer loyalty but pure profit driven.
Also this drives the criminal market bigtime and this is the reason why your head gets bashed in when they are trying to steal your watch.
I will buy a Rolex when they change the channel strategy and start caring about their customers.
Omega is way better and quality wise on par with Rolex

Hmm, and i was thinking people appreciated my feedback regarding Rolex HaHa.
but seriously Omega does not have the backlash problem either.

like apple always responds on their bugs/shortcomings. this must be a unique feauture which only ETA/Sellita movements have.
