That would be a lot of fun to see, albeit way to expensive for my wallet! Does TH have any experience in releasing watches in white gold or platinum?

There is a white gold Carrera 360, a Monaco V4 in Platinum, a 6000 in Platinum as well as various gold versions. They have the experience in precious metals.

I'm still not sold on the fact that this is genuine. The only Google results are the Christie's auction, this web site, where it has ben entioned a couple of times and your blog. Nothing else about it whatsoever.

True, but that's true of a lot of rare TAGs, that Formula 1 for Venezuala I found the other day, there's sod all about that on the internet save for one article and one very poor photograph.

If anyone is interested I saw a pre-owned Heuer Monaco with round pushers in Harrods today - IIRC it had a blue dial and was £19,000.

I purposely haven’t commented on this thread..as much as I want to.

Last July I spent an hour or so talking with the TAG Heuer team about some ideas for the new Monaco. I have no idea if any of those ideas will be picked up on the 50th Anniversary...but I hope I represented accurately what you’d all like to see...

Fingers crossed!

Did you mention circular pushers? 😀

If I'm honest, I didn't like the round pushers on the one I saw. Square pushers make more sense on a square case to me. But fair enough, there's enough square ones to choose from..

Aha, well... TAG have confirmed to me that the CW5141 does exist and it is a black dial Monaco, but they can't confirm that it's white gold as yet. I'm awaiting confirmation from Switzerland, if I get an answer I'll update the thread.

Back to the Monaco 50, Tag should hopefully follow Omega’s Speedy 321 announced.

It'd be super interesting to see a new production of the Calibre 11, but the thing is the base calibre for the 321 (and more importantly, the tooling) was still in production in some form with Patek and with Blancpain - not the case with the Chronomatic movement. Also, the Cal 11 is a modular cam-lever movement, which is quite out of style for premium watches these days where buyers demand integrated column-wheel chronos. If anything I'd bet TAG might have been working on a way to move the crown to the left on the Heuer-02 - they've already cut the running-seconds for the Viceroy model after all

Let’s not forget 2019 is not only the 50th anniversary of the Monaco but also of the Chronomatic, launched with the Monaco, Autavia ánd Carrera. Would be a nice box set!

Wouldn't it make more sense to relaunch the Monaco 24 with the Heuer 02 movement inside? People who want a 'Steve McQueen' watch probably want a Calibre 11 at the end of the day.

They'll probably go all in with the Monaco this year so besides vintage inspired stuff they'll probably throw a carbon skeletonized nanograph tourbillon with sprinkles at us

Ooooh yes please! 😎 Can we have it in the Monaco 24 case though, it's much sexier.

That would be interesting, especially the Gulf model.

If they go the modern route, I hope we get something different. Back in its day, I liked the M24 case, but I think there's plenty of room for improvement, especially for such momentous occasion.

As long as they don't use faux carbon!
