Officially confirmed now by the team, Verstappen is now driving opposite Danny Ric at Redbull-TAG Heuer and Danii Kvyatt gets to wear a Casio again at Scuderia Toro Rosso. Dr Marko really wanted to keep Max given his contract is only through to 2017 and Ferrari want him badly to replace Kimi in 2018, then Kvyatt gives Marko a reason to fire him after Russia and now everything changes for Spain. We'll see Max in the Redbull a week from now in Barcelona http://www.redbullracing.com/article/new-line-spain http://www.bbc.com/sport/formula1/36206848
Jenson Button's thoughts on the driver switch: https://twitter.com/JensonButton/status/728134163606339584 Really? one bad race and Kyvat's dropped, what about the podium in the previous race? #Shortmemories
Red Bull has always managed its drivers differently to others, especially those that come through the junior driver programme. The record of that programme with drivers speaks for itself. I can see that they had to solve the Verstappen question, and the price of solving that was Kvyatt. While I thought he drove quite well, he hasn't proved that he is faster than Ricciardo...whereas there is at least the possibility that Max will be. I guess they chose the "maybe" over the known.
Danii at his Toro Rosso seat fitting... the look in his eyes is a bit telling... sort of "I really wish my ass was not in this seat".
Both drivers were in the Spanish GP press conference... was rather awkward, especially with the press constantly poking Kvyat and with them seated next to each other in the front row by the FIA and both looking straight ahead to avoid eye contact. Some unhappy chaps, even Lewis and Fernando got to sit up the back row this time which never happens... Those two are probably thinking damn, 2007 was bad but not this bad.
Good first up quali from Max...but not good enough Still, he'll get even better as he gets more "real" miles in the car- I'm sure he has done countless simulator hours. Awesome effort from Dan, but he'll have to up his game to stay ahead
Race win on first race for the new team... holy shit... I don't think anyone's going to be able to tell Helmut Marko he's wrong ever again
Bernie on the grid "I'm just going to have to do whatever I can to stop the Mercedes from dominating" Bernie works in mysterious ways.
