Been watching practice on Eurosport, sometimes I had to to mute the box, at times the comms crew talk the awyfyist p*sh instead of dead air times which might be preferable.

He also knows which racing suit to wear too! ;)

Fitting, as Bell's first win came in the Gulf Racing Mirage. As seen here, with co-winner Jacky Ickx.
John with a Gulf patch & Jacky with a Heuer patch. :)

Did you watch the whole race?

Probably half of it :) but during the 24H race, I regularly check my WEC app for live timing standings. Both Toyota had some late drama towards 2/3 of the race with fuel pump issues requiring them to pit more often (after every 8-9 laps instead of the 12-13 laps usual) It’s glad to see Alpine taking the battle to Toyota. They were an LMP2 team champions in the previous years then the marquee fully branded the team to join Toyota in the HY category. I think WEC attracts a wider market and is technically relevant in today’s automotive industry. You can see Alonso driving his F1 Alpine Car around Le Sarthe circuit and chatting with his former teammates in Toyota :)

In Le Mans, you compete not against others, but against yourself and against time. That’s the beauty of this race

Hahaha, I wish. I am a service director at a Cadillac, Buick, GMC and Hyundai dealership. Started my career with Cadillac in 1985, seen quite a bit of change over the years.

Thought it was great when they came out with the LMP car and then success racing with the V’s. I am looking forward to seeing where they take this. I think the racing participation adds value to the V series vehicles. This announcement has gotten my attention.

after announcement of their FE exit
I am bad at keeping up with motorsport news, didn't know they are leaving FE. I guess this points even stronger to F1 getting more electrified and eventually joining ventures with FE.
