One of my favourite Carreras is this WV5140 Carrera from the mid 2000s- beautiful dial

I'd heard about a special "Jack Heuer" version of this watch, but never seen it..but here it is, Reference WV5141. It's actually the same watch, but with a unique case back featuring Jack's signature:

Not only is this the first one that I've seen, but its for sale at eBay at the moment (see here) at what looks like a pretty fair price- about USD4700. No connection to the seller, but it might be a great buy for someone.

If you do buy it, we need photos!

Very nice, love the guilloché dial and old school hands and dial furniture, definitely has the fingerprints of Jack's minimalist design philosophy

Yeah, it's the dial that makes this one special- quite unusual for TAG Heuer.

Would love to know how much gold is in the case (grams). Less than $5k for a solid gold case seems like a great deal- what am I missing?

I'm guessing the reason the price is so reasonable is the ETA movement but frankly knowing you can get your local watchmaker to work on it at any point in the future without having to worry about parts is never a bad thing at all, that's one of the best aspects of 7750 based chronographs like the Carreras, reliability and convenience.

I always wondered about that dial; is it a proper engine turned dial or "just" a stamped pattern?

It's a good question- don't know the answer, but given the price of the watch when new, I suspect stamped.
