Nevermind, it has been around for a while. Guess it was the way the picture was taken in which it made the dial darker then it should be!

The prototype of this one had a titanium carbide coating- the coating was dropped for the production watch

Too bad they didn't go ahead with the prototype version instead. Looked solid!

Yes, I'm not sure what the reason was. At the time they said that they weren't happy with the quality of the finish, but I'd be surprised if dealer feedback in favour of the polished steel finish wasn't just as important.
