Is my timer broken?

Hi

today I picked up a second hand reedition Carrera CV3111. Very happy with it after six months of research trying to decide which one I want.
I am reading the manual and playing around.

should the timer start by simply pushing the top button and stop by doing the same, and reset to zero with the bottom button?

Its not doing anything currently and freaking out I have got a broken watch....

Thank you!

You correctly describe the operation. Just wondering if you're pressing the buttons hard enough? Push down hard until you hear an audible click. If you don't know the service history of the watch, best to assume it might need one, though.

Wow you are completely right! Definitely have to give it a solid push.
I am very relieved. Thanks!

Good to hear. It's a mechanical watch so you do need to apply some pressure. If they're really stiff, though, they could be a bit gunked up, so a service might still be advisable, depending also on how good the timekeeping is.

By the way, presume you mean either the manual-wind CS3111 or the automatic CV2111? How about posting a picture?

Sorry, got the codes mixed up. It is the CV2111.

SO very happy with it! Six months trying to find a watch to buy and decided on this one. Originally wanted the CS but the face was too small, luckily the guy I got mine off was selling both so I was able to compare easily.

Its funny how much decent research changes your choices! six months ago I was set on buying a brand new Aquaracer or the new blue Carrera Cal 16. Here I am today thought with quite a different look and couldnt be happier.

Stunning pair 😎

Yup!! Very tempted to now get the white face one CV2110.

Ordered 2x new straps from an aftermarket place at about £80. Quote from Tag has come in to replace my leather one for £87 and the clasp for £117 which I thought wasn’t bad. Doesn’t need to be done though

Incidentally, this was the very first luxury watch I ever bought.

Have owned a lot of watches since then and no longer have it, but this one has been in the collection a long time now...

Correct, I only purchased the CV. Looks like I am heading down the same path as you Imagwai.

If you keep coming back to the forums then it's a lost cause. Enjoy your watch meanwhile! 😀

@imagwai you're photo spurred me on.

Welcome to my CV2110! Picked it up much cheaper than the CV2111 and came with a black croc strap but I have recently purchased these others so that I can save the originals for special occasions.

Very nice matching pair!

I'm still very tempted to add the black-dial CS3111 or CS3113 to my white/silver CS3110.
