Hi All, Recently picked up a Heuer Stopwatch in an antique shop for €40.It is not working, brought it to a jeweler to get pictures of the movement and he said the main spring was broken and would need a service. Not a collector of watches only having my Bell-Matic but really enjoy researching vintage watches and taught it was worth picking up. Hoping to learn as much as possible about it like the model, year it was made and what it would of been used for like types of sports? Would be grateful for any information. Thank you, Keith.
Hi Keith, These stopwatches are always hard, because Heuer made so many of them. Take a look through this 1970 Catalogue- some similar watches such as this one: https://www.calibre11.com/catalogue...euer-1970-1971-catalogue/#Heuer-1970--1971-13 These are 15-minute counters (top register) and then 1/ 10th of a second
I believe this to be a Valjoux 7700 movement. Try to check which other brands use it (most sell on ebay around 30€) and use it as a donor.
