How to tell what year a watch was manufactured

I have the
serial #: WEF4294
model #: CV201AK

Is there a way to derive the year from those numbers and the back of the case is "closed" with the Fangio picture. Is that the correct look for the given model?

Thanks, just trying to authenticate a watch on eBay.

Posting photos of the said watch would help authenticate it.
Model number is correct, and it does have an engraved Fangio portrait on the back.

There is no way of knowing the year from the serial number unfortunately. But we can tell a few things from the watch itself- the Fangio caseback was introduced in 2011...but it's hard to be much more specific than that.
