Hi, I need help from the Heuer vintage community:
My Heuer Professionel Diver (844) from 1980 needs a new quartz movement - but which ETA ??? is the right one? And an idea where to buy?
I share some fotographs ...
Thanks in advance for your help 😀

Look closely around the perimeter of the movement, the ETA number is usually stamped somewhere close to the edge.

For example, here's a pic of my mid '80s Heuer 1000 with the movement number 963.114 circled in red. Which I think is actually an ESA movement rather than ETA.

As to where to find these movements, eBay is the first place to look. But if you can't find it there or elsewhere, I'd suggest contacting Justin at tag1000diver.com. He should be able to fix or replace the movement for you.

Thank you very much, Mspeedster, but unfortunately, the leaked battery acid has made the engraving unrecognizable. I will contact Justin and hope he can help me.

Hi there,
It should be ESA 536.121 and you can also try ETA 9362 for a direct swap.
Again, these movements are discontinued and only few of them are circulating in the market. I see a few on the ebay, but at an extremely expensive price. Given the scarcity of the movements, some owners rather put in ETA 2824-2 or SW200-1 to make it automatic even though the dial says Quartz.
