Wonder if any can help or point me in the right direction? My husband collected a number of watches- one being a Tag Aquaracer and always kept the boxes/paperwork. He died very suddenly a few weeks ago and as you can imagine my life has been turned upside down!

I’ve been going through some bits and come across a Tag Link limited edition Yoshikatsu Kawaguchi watch 1995/2000 just loose in his desk drawer. No box, no papers, no idea where he bought it. Question is could it be worth something and if so how would I go about selling with no backup authentication? Thanks

Sorry for your loss. If you want to post a picture here, we might be able to help with establishing authenticity. But if you want to sell any watch, then a watch dealer is probably the easiest way to go. You may not get top price, but you should get a fair trade price. I'm not sure where you're located but in the UK, Watchfinder might be a good option, or perhaps an independent dealer like Kibble Watches.

Many thanks. I’m in the UK but I’ve been led to believe no one will touch it without papers??? Not the best photos sorry

It is entirely possible to sell a watch without papers, provided it's genuine. Sadly, I don't think this one is.

Agreed, subdials at 6 (24h) and 9 (7 days) are useless on a chronograph.

An authentic TAG Heuer Link of that style should look like this. I agree with the others, your husband's (RIP) doesn't look authentic.

Reference CJF2111.

Not sure if there was ever a Link model with Yoshikatsu Kawaguchi's name on it. Most that I've seen on-line look fake. However, I believe there was a Yoshikatsu Kawaguchi TAG Heuer Series 2000 (pre Aquaracer) watch.

Thank you. Could I ask why you think it’s not genuine?

Thanks all - this may well explain why it was just loose in a drawer of other bits as he was so fastidious about keeping boxes/paperwork. Bin then?

Thanks everyone for the help. Does anyone believe there’s any value in it or should I just sling it?

On a genuine link bracelet, each "link" should be in two halves split down the middle - that's what makes it a link. Yours appear to be fused together (single piece). And the subdials show the date, not a chronograph (stopwatch timing). And overall, the finishing quality is poor (e.g. subdial hands look rough). It being fake would also explain why, if your husband was meticulous about keeping papers and boxes, this one was found in a drawer with no accompanying paraphenalia.

You could probably dupe someone on eBay with it, but selling it would be illegal. No real value in it I'm afraid.

Oh sorry I didn’t mean knowingly sell as a real Tag but perhaps as a lookylikey. I’m going through the watches and any sold will be donated to charity so not looking to make a quick buck so to speak 🙏

Even if you openly declare it as a fake, you'd still be doing something illegal by trying to sell it. I mean, there are hundreds of people that do the same thing every day and don't get into any real trouble, but that doesn't make it OK.
