·Why do you want to shield a solid metal watch from X-rays? All this will do is get you flagged for an extra inspection.

An X-ray scanner does not create stronger than background magnetic fields, so wouldn't be problem.
Airport metal detectors on the other hand, do create magnetic fields - of about 3-4 Gauss. For comparison, many modern watches are designed to withstand magnetic fields of at least 7,000 Gauss; Omega's latest co-axial movements are resistant to 15,000 Gauss.

·Well thats good news then. Seems bum info and my automatic and battery watch wont be affected. Just looking for a good hard shell single watch case.

S*d paying 85 quid, though. I got mine back with the watch for free when I sent it in to Omega for service. Am sure you can find much cheaper if you shop around!
