·For sale is a beautiful and rare Heuer 2406 chronograph from the 1940s.
These models are known as pre-carrera and big-eyes as they preceded the famous Heuer Carrera models and have large sub-dials.
This example is in great condition and in full working order although the watch does run fast and would benefit from a service (previous service history unknown).
The movement is a Landeron 13 which was used before Heuer moved on to the Valjoux movements.
I have owned the watch for around 8 years and the only reason for selling is because I am reducing my collection.
When I bought the watch I was advised that it was possibly issued to the Swiss military but I can find nothing to substantiate that claim.
The price for the watch is £4000 which will include shipping and insurance to EU and UK - other destinations will incur a small surcharge to be agreed.
