I would be surprised if they sell out all 2000 units.

I won't ever buy a Connected. But if I did, I would possibly choose this one. It's a bit gimmicky but reasonably attractive. Not for me, though.

Bummer the black band won't be sold separately. Although, even if they did, I'd probably pass since they're not developing a mechanical module for the 2020 version. I don't want a bunch of straps for an obsolete smart watch in a few years.

So other than a unique strap and clasp, and a logo on the bezel, are you able to actually do anything Super Mario with the watch? Or does it just play some funny little animations and that's it? Seems like a pretty lazy, gimmicky watch, to me...

Really? Most limited editions are usually just a new dial colour and an engraving on the back 'one of 500'. This one has a unique case, crown, bezel, box, strap and clasp. Plus the animations, stepcounting thing to power up Mario etc. I would say this is the opposite of a 'lazy' limited edition.

Perhaps lazy is not the right word. But gimmicky, definitely...

Because... I received yesterday the watch face and it is crazy fun! Initially I was totally against TAG Heuer x Super Mario but after having it live on the watch, I found its cuteness irresistible. The impressively crisp graphics also make it look very high quality, despite its juvenile character.
It's basically a great alternative to the Mickey Mouse and Minnie watch faces on the Apple Watch, but this is more interactive and lively animated.
