Difference between a NOS PVD Pasadena and a worn one

New arrival today (the wearable Pasadena) and I decided to compare my NOS one against the worn version and was surprised in not just the difference in case condition (which was as expected) but the colours on the dial and hands are very different. The colours on the hands really seem to pop out on the NOS one.

Makes me think how nice it would have been to wander in to a Heuer dealer at the time and see all the great watches in brand new condition.

Not the best pic but you get the idea.

More exposure to sunlight will do that, and when they get loads then they’re considered “tropical” 🤨

Lovely piece, and in nice all round worn condition, rather than dinked and dented all over. Congrats.

Hi Steve, I too had a new arrival yesterday and noticed a very similar thing.
My Calculator cant't officially be counted as NOS as it doesn't have it's original strap but the case, face etc are untouched.
I was taken aback by the vibrancy of the second, minute and hour hands. They are a striking vibrant orange colour.
I dont have another non NOS watch to compare but have seen many used versions online while searching for this watch to know that they do loose their colour over time. I like your Pasadena and has been a watch I have thought about pursuing but for now, I'm over the moon with my Calculator.

The photo shows this a little but doesn't do the orange colour justice.

Cheers

Beautiful!

I spotted some NOS Calculator manuals on eBay yesterday if you wanted to add it to the set: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vintage-...lator-leaflet-instruction-manual/113168248323

Hey thanks for that.
Was on my mind to try and source some of the accompanying stuff like box and manuals etc if I can. I know the box is difficult and costly but the search can be half the fun of it all. Have put an offer in for the instruction booklet which I notice is in German.
Anyway , appreciate the link to it.

Cheers
