Is there anyone in the US repairing Chronosplit models.I have a beautiful example, both displays work, reset button is stuck.Tag-Heuer says parts NLA which is not a surprise.Any help is appreciated.
There's only one place to go: http://www.led-forever.com/html/heuer_chronosplit_led_lcd_en.html The site has not been updated for a while, but is run by Uli Sick. He knows more about these than anyone, and even though he is based in Europe, he's the only person I would go to.
He is not taking on any new jobs. Can anyone recommend a US based expert/enthusiast to help with my Chronosplit?
Hmm. No, I can't...don't know of anyone else. Is that because Uli is too busy and it's just a matter of waiting...because if it is, I'd wait
@Calb3 I recieved an enquiry but it was never taken forward. In the mean time I have supplied one of my repair modules to Uli SIck of LED Forever. This was fitted to a Chronosplit which sold on EBay very recently. Please PM me or see my web page www.rawsar.com. Thanks
Actually, it was very rude of me to say there was "only one place to go"...because as good at Uli's watches are, the work that Neil is doing at Rawsar is phenomenal. I had a look through the site the other day, which has some great refurbished watches that I am sure will wear and last a lot better than the fragile originals
@Calibre11 Many thanks for your kind words, very much apreciated. On the topic of watches for sale (and being cheeky) I have one of my watches going up on Ebay on Monday. Also do you have a for sale section as I need to up my marketing game ?
I just received my Chronosplit from Neil.I can’t say enough good things about his company and the level of service he provides.Out of the drawer and onto my wrist!
Many thanks for the praise sciotoboy, appreciated, it really has made my day receiving such good feedback and helps promote my business. Cheers Neil.
Looks great- I tried one of these on last weekend...super cool watch. Fantastic that these are getting a second life thanks to @Rawsar
You’ve not looked into it very well then I’d suggest. No clue where you’ve got your figures from as a brand new module designed and built by Rawsar is approximately $500. I’ve recently had mine with Niel at Rawsar and he does everything possible to keep the watch original. He did a load of work on mine and I thought it was very reasonable. Have you actually emailed him and asked, because it certainly doesn’t sound like it?! I’m interested in where you’re finding working ones for $1200, not a single one close to that on the general sales platforms.
I recently sent my watch over to Niel at Rawsar as it had stopped working completely. When I bought it, it was working, but had some “moments” and gradually got worse. I had assumed it needed a new module, but as I found out, Niel was determined to see what could be done to keep it original. He found corrosion on the board which was what was making a lot of the watch non-functional. He painstakingly cleaned it all up and got the “clock” part of the module working. With the time working he then started testing to see why the LCD of the timer wasn’t working and found several breaks in the connections, which he fixed. The pushers were always sticky and he found them gunked up and the o-rings all mushy, so replaced them. He also discovered the seal in the case back too thin and so used a correct one before closing it all up. He provided feedback and photos throughout the process and the turnaround was swift, with my mate who took it back to Aus with him dropping it off one week and collecting it the next. Total cost of the repair was $400. A bargain for what was done and to get my watch back working again better than ever. I can’t recommend Rawsar (Niel) highly enough.
