Change out to TH20 movements

I've started noticing that Heuer 02 movements are getting quietly replaced by TH20 movement. The tell tale sign is of course the Heuer shield shaped rotor disk.

I first noticed this on the Carbon Monza, with the new movement being TH20-12. Lately I've seen the Monaco x Gulf CBL2115 and the DLC skeleton CBL2184 with TH20 movements.

The new naming is now xxxx-1 for the TH20 powered pieces.

That makes me wonder if the new movements will also make its way to watches being serviced.

Yeah, I think it's a shame. The new TH20 has poorer finishing and it loses the skeletonised bridge for a couple of the gears. The new rotors are also pretty ordinary looking (I'm being very polite here).

I hope they never replace my Heuer 02 with the TH20! I honestly don't mind the unidirectional rotor wobble.

Yeah same lol. I chose the word utilitarian, but I feel that “agricultural” is more fitting. It could be the pictures, but it looks like base level Sellita finishing.

I too felt the new TH-20 lost something in the looks department. I thought it was just the rotor design that for me didn't look as good. But now that your mention it, the finishing does look toned down and less skeletonized in appearance.

Yup, and my H02's all have special LE rotors, so they better not replace 'em!
I find that the H02 rotor spin sound is more subdued in the latest 2023 models compared to the earlier iterations.

Same here! I also prefer the look -and the name- of the Calibre Heuer 02 movement 👍

I want to take my Blue Dreamer in for service. Should I be nervous?

No, the blue dreamer uses the calibre 18 - SW300 with Dubois Depraz module, so it's not interchangeable with the TH20. Should be all good!

Thanks! I was trying to make a joke, but poor execution. I think I was only trying to humor myself on that one so was a miss!

Wow...I just had a look.
Massive prices. Explains why they are still available. The one from Australia has been there for over 9 months.
