    Hello all,

First time poster here. I’ve done the unthinkable and dropped my beloved Carrera 1153N and the crystal has cracked. This one definitely won’t buff out so I definitely need the crystal replaced. I did some snooping around the internet and some suggest that the crystal and tachymeter are one part and therefore need to replaced together. Can anyone confirm this?

    Cheers

They're not one part, but the tachymeter is the tension ring that keeps the crystal in place. If the drop damaged it, you'll need to replace it too. An experienced watchmaker will be able to advise you on what you'll need to do

Thank you very much for your response and sorry for the delay in mine. I’m glad to hear they are separate parts. I don’t think the tension ring is damaged but difficult to be sure until it’s opened up I suppose.

Now the hunt continues for a replacement crystal. It’s proving to be very difficult.
