Calibre 7 GMT discussion

So i've spent like 4 days (day&night) so far with my new Aquaracer calibre 7 GMT (i refrain myself from calling it 'pepsi' because i think Rolex already nailed that one) and i must say i am really satisfied with the overall quality of it.

Calibre 7 GMT (or at least the one that i have) is, in my personal experience at least, definitely the smoothest operating calibre i've ever touched. The crown operation is buttery smooth, even better than any Rolex that i've handled so far.

Now, according to my research it uses the ETA 2895-2 as the movement.

My question is that, are the Calibre 7 GMT (Aquaracer) and Calibre 7 Twintime (Carrera) the same movement ?

Not sure on the question but I completely agree on the movement - the Calibre 7 is without a doubt the smoothest movement I have. When I first wound it I thought it was broken as there is barely any resistance and it’s virtually silent. Superior refinement over pieces 10x the price.

Glad to hear calibre7 is not just some random quality apparently.

Thanks for sharing !

Otto, have you sorted the bezel dilemma yet?

Yes Sir, i just settled with unidirectional and accept it that way (as according to official website)

Good luck with the bidirectional owner. I am inconclusive about which one is the best for the watch itself.

I would still query it myself
