Was it @ngo516 who said that TAG Heuer considers online shopping to be the luxury experience so they deliver stuff in these mega boxes when you buy online? But if you go to an AD or boutique you get the small crappy normal one. I guess TAG adopted this philosophy for all models?

Interesting, haven't seen anything like that. Maybe it was part of one of their sales?

My 160 and my Dato came from TAG via "online" and didn't have that either. Though I didn't buy straight from the website, of course.

My guess is if anything, they're trying to provide a sense of occasion for an online transaction, so one isn't just opening a box like any other package.

i wish there was a "TAG Boutique" near me........ i had a great experience dealing with them in Vegas...... but sadly where i am, i have to deal with a chain jeweler store as AD..... even worse if I wanted a Rolex..... only one AD in the entire town.... next closest one is 2 hour drive away

I wonder when they started doing this then cos your watch sure as hell didn't come in a box like that.

Well yes, even more implausible that it got lost if it was that big!

Yeah well maybe these big boxes aint nothing about premium experience. Simply just more difficult to steal?

Buying a “luxury” watch is not just buying a watch. It’s also buying an enjoyable experience! 😉 Many have said that fine watches are similar to an “emotional investment” 👍 This pandemic, as we all know, has severely restricted mobility yet Swiss watch manufacturers have learned & adapted that in order to drive up sales, they need to bring to customers this “experience” at the comfort of your own home 😀

Part of the reason they come like this is they can be returned easily and no chance of damage in transport.

All the Watches purchased online have a return policy. Not seeing it in the flesh and then not liking it once purchased there has to be an opportunity to return it and get $$$ back.

It sold out? Sorry to hear that.

I have no idea.

'Yeah, no' is an Aussie saying. This might help explain it:
